No need to fly to Cebu to get a slice of Rico’s Lechon

What’s a trip to The Queen City of the South without getting your hands on some greasy-yummy Lechon? Rico’s Lechon has long been the byword for delicious Cebu Lechon. Many agree that the brand is one of the best.

If you somehow managed to skip tasting a Rico’s Lechon when in the South (they even have a stall in Mactan-Cebu International Airport), now there’s no more excuse. After more than 20 years in the Visayas, the brand is finally opening branches in Luzon.

The flagship store is located at the Fort Entertainment Complex in BGC, Taguig, and will open on August 3. The Cebuano institution will serve all of the favorites from Cebu, including Lechon Sisig, Lechon Paksiw, Seafood Kare Kare, Fried Rice Trio, and Prichon.

Of course, the Original Lechon will be there as well, alongside the very popular (and our definite fave) Spicy Lechon. Sample the savory taste of Rico’s Lechon with their very own sukalami, a spicy vinegar concoction that perfectly balances out the flavors of the scrumptious pork dish; it’s a sacrilege to taint a lechon dish from Rico’s with sarsa like Mang Thomas and its ilk.

“I’ve been a patron of Rico’s Lechon for years and personally believe it’s the best,” said Meat Concepts Corp. President George Pua. “We want to be able to have Cebuanos take pride in sharing this iconic brand with the rest of the country, and eventually the world.”

The Rico’s Lechon brand is in good hands, since Pua’s Meat Concept Corp. is responsible for popular and successful brands in the islands like KPub BBQ, Thai BBQ, Tony Roma’s, Ogawa Traditional Chinese, and OPPA Chicken.

Apart from the branch in BGC, Lechon fans can look forward to more future branches in the metro. Opening soon are branches in Tiendesitas in Pasig, Top of the Glo in Glorietta Mall in Makati, Ayala Malls Cloverleaf and UP Town Center in Quezon City.

It’s a good thing the flagship branch is near St. Luke’s BGC, book a checkup immediately after dining in Rico’s Lechon Manila, you’re gonna need it. (I’m only half joking)
